The Country’s Gender Assessment of the National Agriculture and Rural Development sector project Brief

The purpose of this one-day workshop was to inform other key stokeholes (government agencies) of the importance of enhancing equal gender participation in archiving food security in the country.

PNG’s gender assessment is undertaken by DAL in partnership with FAO as Gender equality is an integral part of FAO’s mandate to achieving food security for all through increasing levels of food nutrition, improving agricultural productivity and natural resources management and improving well being of the larger rural communities. DAL and FAO see that promoting Gender Equality will increase the impact of FAO interventions while contributing to the overall achievement of the broader UN Goal of Human Rights and Social Justice.
