NDC Partnership Focal Point Mr. Alfred Rungol who is the current Acting General Manager of the Division led the meeting with presentations from NDC Coordinator Ms. Debra Sungi and Assistant Coordinator Ms. Jacinta Kull on PNG's NDC Partnership Implementation Plan. Presentations covered Elements to be captured in the NDC ICTU and Accounting, Indicators and Tracking of Progress and a Way Forward for CCDA NDC Implementation for 2020 submission.
This year's United Nation's Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties (COP)25 will be held in Santiago, Chile. The venue Ciudad Parque Bicentenario is a 250 hectares urban project area where the former Santiago International Airport used to be located. Its privileged location, connectivity and size make it a great place to host a world-class event such as the COP25, with an average daily attendance estimated at 25,000.

To boost ambition and accelerate actions to implement the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, UN Secretary-General António Guterres will host the 2019 Climate Action Summit on 23 September to meet the climate challenge.
