The Enhanced PNG NDC, for 2020 Submission Inception Workshop
Papua New Guinea’s Nationally Determine Contributions (NDC) inception workshop, “The Inception Workshop for the Enhanced PNG NDC for the 2020 submission” was held on the 4th of September 2020, at the Hilton Hotel, Port Moresby.
A leadership forum held today at the Laguna Hotel will discuss on a coordinated response to Climate Change in the country.
The forum will be officiated by the Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change Honourable Geoffrey Kama MP with remarks from the UNDP’s Resident Representative Mr. Dirk Wagener.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Climate Change & Development Authority (CCDA), Hunstein Range Holdings Limited (HRHL) and PNG REDD+ Asset and Project Management Limited (PRAPML) was facilitated by the Right Honourable Geoffrey Kama MP, Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change on the 1st August, 2019 in the presence of Member for Wosera Gawi and Minister for Education, Right Honourable Joseph Yopyyopi. Also present was Mr. Ruel Yamuna, Managing Director for the Climate Change & Development Authority and Mr.
Climate Change and Development Authority (CCDA) Managing Director, Mr. Ruel Yamuna, opened the fourth and final Regional Workshop on the Green Climate Fund and the review of the Climate Change (Management) Act, 2015 at the Alotau International Hotel yesterday.
On the occasion of Ministerial Hand over take over ceremony
West New Britain Provincial Administrator Mr. Williamson Hosea has challenged participants at a Climate Change regional workshop held at the Liamo Beach Resort in Kimbe West New Britain Province (WNBP) for stakeholders to harmonise plans and activities at the sub national levels rather than working in isolation to fully address Climate Change.
Mr. Hosea said the importance of this was for stakeholders to communicate with each other and know where their boundaries are in terms of meeting their project/plan outcomes.
Morobe Provincial Government’s Deputy Administrator Mr. Masayan Moat called on participants of the second round of the regional consultation on Green Climate Fund (GCF) in Lae this morning at the Lae International Hotel to make discussions at this level of the workshop more interactive by asking questions to the organisers.
He said understanding issues more will create an informed audience adding that this is the challenge the provincial government has in getting the right information down to its 33 Local Level Governments (LLGs) and 575 wards within the province.
Papua New Guinea will join hands with its Pacific neighboring countries to strengthen and amplify the voices of the Pacific calling for global action to address climate change.
